This post tells you about early summer & summer(July- early August).
We had been in the rainy season called “Tsuyu” in June and July, which is followed by summer in Japan.
In this season we tend to get health troubles because of the temperature difference in a day or a couple of days. I catch a cold in this season every year…
I live in the area there isn’t much precipitation, but this year met heavy rainfall several times. And I recognized the comfortableness of tatami room again. It gives you dry feeling even when humidity is high.
Now it is very very hot and humid in Japan! Summer has come.
In summer we often use vinegar in cooking. It stimulates your appetite and makes food preservative.
Doyo days on Japanese old calendar are hottest days of summer. And on Ushi-no-hi day(changes every year, July 27 in 2019) we eat Unagi(eel). This nourishing food keeps your health good in summer days.
…But I caught a bad cold after that this year.(^^;)
